West Star Now Offering Advent eABS for King Air 300s
eABS is a lightweight, low-cost and easily-installed anti-skid braking system designed especially for turbine-powered aircraft up to 20,000 pounds mtow.

Grand Junction, Colo.-based West Star Aviation has been approved as an authorized dealer and installation facility for Advent Aircraft System's newly STC'd digital anti-skid braking system. Dubbed eABS, the system offers enhanced tire protection, tactical feedback, smoothness in adverse conditions and low-speed cut-out. According to Tom Grunbeck, Advent Aircraft System’s vice president of marketing and sales, the Advent eABS is a lightweight, low-cost and easily installed anti-skid braking system designed especially for turbine-powered aircraft up to 20,000 pounds mtow.

“The system has excellent braking performance and requires no change to existing braking system components,” he told AIN. “West Star is currently offering the STC for the Beechcraft King Air B300/300C, and certification for the King Air B200 and 250 is slated for approval within approximately six months. This is the first time that a practical anti-skid system has been available for the King Air platform. The STC applies to models equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line GPS 4000S or Garmin G1000/430W/530W avionics.”

Advent's eABS offers anti-skid braking without the need for power-boosted brakes or bulky hydraulic accumulators, and it does not require modification to the existing landing gear or master cylinders. Installation can normally be accomplished during scheduled maintenance inspections or refurbishment.
