Universal Weather and Aviation completed a multi-million-dollar renovation of its FBO at Mexico’s Toluca International Airport, part of Universal Aviation Mexico, a joint venture with local provider Avemex. The facility features a 16,384-sq-ft private aircraft terminal, complete with a conference room and integrated lounge; five private lounges, one with a passenger bar; dining lounge with breakfast buffet and a la carte options throughout the day; gourmet coffee service; Wi-Fi; short-term crew lounge with two work stations; long-term lounge with a pair of snooze rooms; men’s and women’s showers; TV area; four computer terminals; and concierge service.

For aircraft storage, the FBO has three transient hangars totaling 92,000 sq ft, a 16,640-sq-ft maintenance hangar and 135,000 sq ft of ramp space. There also is a dedicated area for drivers and security guards.

The location, one of the oldest service providers at the airport, in operation for more than two decades, has enhanced its security measures as part of the renovation, with more than 100 surveillance cameras scattered throughout the facility and fingerprint-scanner-controlled access to the hangars and ramp. Avemex, which provides aircraft charter, maintenance and sales, is also headquartered in the facility.
