NBAA's 2016 Leadership Conference concluded late last week in San Antonio, Texas, where approximately 450 flight department managers, corporate pilots and other personnel gathered. Topids of discussion included building professional flight operations and engaging with C-suite executives and others to promote the value of flight departments. Also during the three-day conference, NBAA's newly christened Business Aviation Management Committee announced two recipients of its 2015 Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarships.
Shelby Hooker, HondaJet Southwest customer relations manager for Cutter Aviation, and Air Services CFO Wendy Ulrich each received financial support toward earning their Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) accreditation from NBAA, thanks to this scholarship. Before the event, NBAA also awarded two Leadership Conference scholarships: to Jason Herman, a captain with Latitude33 Aviation, and Matthew Lipk, Meridian Air Charter pilot and dispatcher. Valued at about $2,000, the stipends covered travel and attendance costs to the San Antonio event.
Both scholarships are funded through donations from Business Aviation Management Committee member companies.
