Addison, Texas-based PlaneSmart Charter received an Argus Gold rating, the company announced on Tuesday at the 2016 Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in Tampa, Fla. The rating comes after Argus audited the business aviation charter firm to ensure it is “efficiently managed, organized and run in a manner conducive to continued safe operations.”
Meanwhile, parent company PlaneSmart Aviation named Shelley Hedrick director of aircraft acquisitions and customer relationships. She has more than 15 years of experience with whole and fractional aircraft acquisitions and dispositions, aircraft management, Part 91 and 135 operations, business development, marketing, charter sales and contract negotiations.
Hedrick is the founder and president of Women in Aviation–North Texas Chapter and previously served as the director of charter sales and owner services for Executive Flight Services before joining PlaneSmart. She also served as a volunteer flight coordinator for Corporate Aviation Responding in Emergencies, aiding in the Haitian earthquake crisis relief by coordinating and scheduling donated business jets that transported medical personnel, injured patients, newly adopted children and missionaries. For this volunteer work, Hedrick was a co-recipient of the 2010 NBAA Al Ueltschi Award for humanitarian leadership.
