DAC International’s A-D (analog-digital) converter model GDC62 was included in a certification package developed by TAG Aviation in Geneva to upgrade Dassault Falcon MF900/900EX models to meet new TCAS II Change 7.1 requirements.
Beginning December. 1, 2015, all aircraft equipped with TCAS and weighing more than 5,700 kg were required to have the 7.1 TCAS II upgrade to fly in European airspace. The U.S. FAA does not have a similar mandate, but U.S.-registered operators must have the upgrade installed by January. 1, 2017 for international operations.
TAG Aviation Geneva obtained the European Aviation Safety Agency supplemental type certificate for the Falcon MF900/900EX using the GDC62, which accepts analog inputs from radio altimeters and converts the signal to a ARINCrinc 429 format compatible with TCAS II digital processors, DAC International said. “The GDC62 eliminates the need to replace analog radio altimeters when digital-only TcasCAS receivers are installed.”
