Online private charter booking platform Stratajet this week began a tour of the U.S. as part of its campaign to get operators there to use the site. The UK-based group launched the site in September 2015, and it now includes a fleet of more than 500 Europe-based aircraft.

Stratajet CEO Jonny Nicol is visiting charter operators and FBOs around the U.S. in the company’s Piper Chieftain. Stratajet claims that the site is “the world’s only instant online marketplace for private aircraft.” The site allows consumers to see real-time pricing and book flights online instantly, by linking directly to operators’ own pricing systems without any interaction with brokers.

According to Stratajet, the system is delivering significant improvements in efficiency for operators because multiple quotes can be generated automatically and partial empty legs can be incorporated into the flight costs. Stratajet said that around 26 percent of flight searches conducted since the site was launched have included partial empty legs.

The Stratajet team will be participating in the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers conference in Tampa, Fla., next week and the NBAA Regional Forum in West Palm Beach, Fla., on January 28.

“After such a successful campaign in Europe, we are now more than ready to bring this industry-changing opportunity to operators and FBOs in the U.S.,” said Nicol. “Our proposition was validated from our very first booking, when a customer achieved a 40-percent discount on a traditional flight booking, because we were able to include a partial empty leg. This is the opportunity to expand our stagnant industry that all operators need.”
