Honeywell Develops Apple Watch App for Cabin Control
App will be available next month and will control cabin lighting, monitor displays, temperature, flight map information and electronic shades.
William Rowell, Honeywell senior manager for business and general aviation cabin systems technical sales, demonstrates a development version of an Apple Watch app that can control cabin systems at the company's cabin management development facility in Sarasota, Fla. Because it works on a wearable device, the Ovation Select cabin management systems app can notify the flight attendant that one of the passengers pushed the attendant call button, while passengers can be notified when the seat-belt sign is turned on or off. It can also be used to control cabin lighting, monitor displays, temperature, flight map information and electronic shades. (Photo: Chad Trautvetter/AIN)
