Jet Aviation has received the completions contract for the first privately owned Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the company announced last week. The order, placed by an undisclosed Middle Eastern customer, will be performed at the company's facility in Basel, Switzerland, and is expected to be completed in 2018. The aircraft will feature a master bedroom, bathroom and office suite with a large open plan dining and living area, along with guest rooms and a state-of-the-art cabin management system, in what Boeing Business Jets president David Longridge described as a milestone project.
Completions specialist GDC Technics also received a contract for another private 787-8, which it will receive in 2017. The San Antonio-based company currently has a pair of Dreamliners undergoing completion at its new 850,000-sq-ft facility at Fort Worth Alliance Airport in Texas, along with a 777-300ER for an Asian customer. It also has a contract to refurbish a BBJ1.
