Bombardier Appoints New Bizjet President
David Coleal succeeds Eric Martel in leadership role

Eric Martel's tenure as president of Bombardier's business jet division ended less than two years after it began, with today's announcement that David Coleal will be rejoining the Canadian airframer to succeed him. Martel spent 13 years at the OEM and was promoted from president of customer services and specialized and amphibious aircraft to lead the business jet division in late 2013. He left to pursue other opportunities, according to the manufacturer.

Coleal joined Bombardier in 2008 from Cirrus Design, where he was president and COO, becoming the president and general manager for Learjet. He left in August 2011 to be executive v-p and general manager at Spirit Aerosystems, where he served until his return to Bombardier. “Throughout his outstanding career in the manufacturing and aerospace sectors, David Coleal has always focused on delighting customers and driving performance,” said Bombardier president and CEO Alain Bellemare. “He is recognized for applying lean and critical thinking to his business to improve execution, competitiveness and financial results.”
