Lufthansa Technik has signed a contract with an undisclosed customer in Greater China for a VIP Airbus ACJ319 cabin completion. The work will be performed by Lufthansa Technik's U.S. subsidiary BizJet International in Tulsa, Okla., in exclusive cooperation with the bespoke division of Hermès, Paris, which will design the interior. The custom-designed interior comprises a spacious dining and lounge area, a private master bedroom/office as well a fully equipped master bathroom featuring a large shower.
"The ACJ319 will have 19 seats for takeoff, twelve of which can be in full-flat sleeping positions," said Brian Barber, vice president for completions and MRO at BizJet International. "Our client has a very special request for the design and finishing of the VIP club-seats and divans, which will be designed and upholstered by Hermès' craftsmen in Paris. The cabin interior will also feature some exclusive Hermès fabric on the bulkhead and curtain of the aft cabin."
Adding to the delicate interior design the aircraft will be equipped with a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment and cabin management system thatcan be controlled with tablet devices via a cabin Wi-Fi environment. BizJet will construct all of the furniture, including the galley, in house.
Redelivery of the completed aircraft to the customer is planned for spring 2016.
The new ACJ319 will mark Lufthansa Technik Group's 29th VIP completion for the Greater China market. The company delivered a narrowbody aircraft to an undisclosed Chinese customer in March and is currently working on a BBJ and a BBJ2 for Chinese clients at its BizJet facility.
