Optimists outweighed pessimists by three-to-one in the latest JetNet iQ quarterly survey of business aircraft owners and operators. The survey for the first quarter of 2015, conducted in early April, found that 60 percent of global respondents believe that the industry has passed the low point of the recent downturn. This represents the highest proportion of optimists recorded since JetNet started the quarterly surveys in 2011.
The most optimistic region of the world was North America, which is home to more than 60 percent of the global business aircraft fleet and where 70 percent of respondents feel the industry has passed the downturn. By contrast, only 47 percent of respondents in the Asia-Pacific region and 53 percent in Europe felt the same way.
JetNet sends its password-protected surveys to 8,500 industry professionals in 125 different countries. Published data is based on at least 500 responses from 50 countries each quarter.
