Levil Technology’s ADS-B/AHRS devices have been upgraded with new features, including dual-band ADS-B receivers and compatibility with the ForeFlight Mobile iPad app and the Aero Watch app for Android Wear smart watches.
The portable iLevil2-SW and permanent-mount iLevil2-AW provide ADS-B IN capability on both the 978 MHz Universal Access Transceiver (UAT) and 1090 MHz Extended Squitter (ES) frequencies, for maximum traffic reception. Both units also are equipped with Waas GPS receivers and attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) sensors, which wirelessly provide pitch, roll and heading information for attitude indicator displays in some aviation apps, including those with synthetic vision. The iLevil2-AW adds connections to the aircraft’s pitot-static system, for experimental, light sport and ultralight aircraft applications, so compatible apps can display indicated airspeed, vertical speed and barometric altitude. Data is delivered to tablets and phones via Wi-Fi. A larger solar panel on the iLevel2-SW helps extend battery life on the unit by an hour.
According to Levil Technology, when used with the ForeFlight app, the iLevil2 devices currently provide attitude information for the synthetic vision display as well as GPS and traffic information. Weather information from the FAA’s Flight Information Services-Broadcast service is not yet available from the iLevil2 devices on ForeFlight.
The iLevil2-SW sells for $1,195 and the iLevel2-AW for $1,395.
