Kitchener Aero Adds EASA Garmin G500H STC for EC-120
The company also holds approvals from Transport Canada and the FAA.

Kitchener Aero Avionics received EASA STC approval for its glass-cockpit upgrade on Airbus Helicopters EC120s. The Garmin G500H flight display system with helicopter synthetic vision, an attitude heading reference system and air data sensor are key components of the upgrade. Kitchener has completed three of these mods and a fourth is under way.

Also STC’d in the EC120 are the Garmin GDL-69/69A XM Weather datalink, an Avidyne TAS-605 traffic awareness system and a Honeywell KRA-405B radar altimeter system. All of the systems are controlled by, and displayed on, the G500H. The STC, which is available through all qualified Garmin dealers worldwide, is being revised to incorporate a Mid-Continent SAM electronic standby instrument system with integral emergency power supply to replace the two-inch analog standby instrumentation. External video from a video camera or FLIR system may also be displayed on the G500H MFD for electronic newsgathering and aerial law-enforcement applications.
