TRB Hosts Webinar on Airport Winter Operations
Course includes a best practices review and discussion of practical applications.

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) will hold a “Safety and Financial Impacts of Airport Winter Operations" webinar on April 9 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. It will highlights the TRB’s airport cooperative research program with a best practices review and a look at practical applications to better understand the level of investment required to maintain safe winter operations.


"Part 1, ACRP Report 123: A Guidebook for Airport Winter Operations" looks at how best to gather buy-in from all required personnel before any funds are spent, as well as the creation of a data-driven approach to maintaining the optimal investment level throughout the winter season. "Part 2, ACRP Synthesis 12: Preventing Vehicle-Aircraft Incidents During Winter Operations and Periods of Low Visibility" looks at runway incursion causal factors and incursion prevention methods. The first hour will be devoted to the presentations, while the final 30 minutes will focus on questions and answers.


Although no fee is required to participate in the webinar, pre-registration is necessary. The event counts toward continuing educational units for accredited airport executives.
