The NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee is awarding $36,250 in scholarship funds this year to seven individuals who are advancing their careers through continuing education, the association announced this week at the 2015 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in San Jose, Calif. In addition, the committee named 15 recipients of training scholarships.
The S&D Committee offers scholarships to individuals seeking to develop business aviation schedulers and dispatchers careers. Scholarship programs involve either cash awards or access to hands-on training. The committee has awarded more than $576,250 to schedulers and dispatchers since 1997.
Recipients of the cash awards are Christopher Barnes, Universal Weather and Aviation; Tracy Burdacki, MassMutual Financial Group; Heidi Linan, Jet Aviation; Robert Montminy, student at Daniel Webster College; Kelly Mueller, Fargo Jet Center; Jeremy Pickens, FedEx; and Jake Zelman, Southwest Airlines.
The training scholarship award winners are Rebecca Bakeman, RAI Jets; Van Brendle, Nascar; Alana Fisher, The Hinman Company; Tieg Grayson, Bickel & Brewer; Melissa McCune, American Jet International; Elisabeth Murillo, California Baptist University; Calley Nagy, Springhill Suites; Patrick O’Neill, Southern Company Services; Sue Pickelman, Pentastar Aviation; Pamela Province, Business Air; Blake Summers, Horizon Air; Aymie Thornton, JCPenney; Dallas Toon, Lake Clark Air; Lyndsey Waller, Stryker Corporation; and Owen Woodland, student, University of Dubuque.
