Renewable fuel producer Amyris received approval from Brazilian fuel authority ANP last week for the use of its jet biofuel, which is produced in the South American country. The authorization will allow commercialization of the sugarcane-based fuel, which meets the revised ASTM International standards set in June, in blends of up to 10 percent. According to the company, use of its fuel will allow Brazil to support local economic development and reduce its dependence on imported fuel while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions.
