A Kenyan-registered BAe Hawker-Siddley 748 crashed November 14 just short of the runway at Panyagor in South Sudan. Two of three people aboard the aircraft were reported to have perished in the accident. The Global Lift aircraft, chartered by Lutheran World Federation, was on approach to the airstrip in the east African country’s Jonglei state at the time of the accident. Another HS748 belonging to Global Airlift was reported to have crashed in February while on approach to Rubkona in South Sudan.
