Bell Helicopter Finds Good Fortune in China with Sale of 50 Jet Ranger Xs
This latest order takes Bell independent distributor Reignwood’s commitment to 60 of the new light-single helicopters.
Reignwood Aviation chairman Zheng Gang and Bell Helicopter president and CEO John Garrison sign a letter of intent at Airshow China that will see Reignwood acquire 50 more 505 Jet Ranger Xs. This latest order takes Reignwood’s commitment to 60 of the new Bell light singles.

Bell Helicopter inked a letter of intent with its independent Chinese representative, Reignwood Investment, for fifty 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters today at Airshow China 2014 in Zhuhai, just one day after the new model flew for the first time. This latest order takes Reignwood’s commitment to 60 of the new Bell light singles. Reignwood plans to use the aircraft for travel and tourism purposes.

“This agreement demonstrates the interest and excitement Bell Helicopter is generating in China and strengthens the relationship between Bell and Reignwood,” said Bell president and CEO John Garrison. “The Bell 505 was designed based on extensive input provided by a customer advisory council, placing safety, performance and affordability at the forefront. It is built upon the features and capabilities of the legendary Bell JetRanger with a new design and advanced technologies.”

“Bell Helicopter and Reignwood enjoy a solid and growing relationship in China,” said Bell Helicopter vice president for China Chris Jaran. “Their knowledge of the culture and the customer base has been a tremendous resource for us. They are active advocates of our aircraft because they see the value in our multi-mission capabilities.”

Reignwood’s existing fleet of Bell 206, 407GX and 429 helicopters is flying in various roles across China, including EMS, corporate transport and pilot training, according to Jaran.

Meanwhile, Bell announced the sale of six Bell 407GXs today at Airshow China in Zhuhai. Hunan Jiucheng General Aviation and Guangdong Daohe General Aviation each placed an order for one of the medium singles, while General Aviation Services of Hunan and Aerochine Aviation each signed for two 407GXs. The aircraft will be used for a variety of missions, ranging from aircraft leasing to general aviation, the company said.

“We are pleased to have all four customers here at Airshow China to celebrate the addition of the Bell 407GX to each of their fleets. The Bell 407GX has seen tremendous success here in China,” Jaran noted. “The aircraft’s versatility is a key differentiator for us. We have numerous customers performing multiple roles in the same aircraft, and with just a quick interior change this helicopter can go from one mission to another.”
