The ninth annual JetExpo business aviation show opened at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on Thursday morning. According to organizers, the three-day event (September 4-6) has attracted around 75 exhibiting companies from Russia and overseas and up to 8,000 visitors are expected. Approximately 30 aircraft are on static display at the Vnukovo-3 business aviation complex, which represents a reduction on the 40 models exhibited at last year's event. So far European Union and U.S. sanctions against Russia for its alleged military intervention in eastern Ukraine appear to have had limited impact on the business aviation sector and certainly the situation has not deterred all major business aircraft manufacturers from exhibiting at JetExpo this year. However, the industry will likely be concerned about the prospect of wider sanctions that are now being threatened.
