In a ceremony complete with a band, acrobatic performers and lion dancers to bring luck and prosperity to the new facilities, and 150 spectators, Jet Aviation Singapore opened the doors of its 80,700-sq-ft hangar facility at Seletar Aerospace Park on May 31. Center stage was the MRO’s new $25 million, 53,800-sq-ft hangar erected adjacent to the company’s original facility.
According to the company, it was built in direct response to growing demand for large, long-range business jets in the region. “This investment really underscores our commitment to meeting our customers’ requirements in Asia,” said Rob Smith, president of the Jet Aviation Group. “We look forward to serving our customers from this and the rest of our global network of facilities.”
With the new facility Jet Aviation Singapore can accommodate aircraft as large as the Boeing Business Jet and Airbus Corporate Jet. The hangar can accommodate five G650s or five Global Express 7000s simultaneously. Its apron, which has direct access to the tarmac, was also expanded by 10,000 sq ft.
