A new web-based portal to be launched in June will enable customers of BaseOps International to plan routes, file flight plans, access information such as Notams and aviation weather, and pre-arrange FBO services such as aircraft handling, fuel and crew needs, as well as concierge services, including hotels, rental cars and catering. BaseOps is a unit of World Fuel Services.
World Fuel Services aviation segment president Michael Clementi also announced at EBACE 2014 that it will promote the AvPOS point-of-sale system as its payment software of choice for non-U.S. markets. AvPOS, from KHI, is specifically designed for FBOs and aviation merchants, and supports World Fuel’s Avcard, the Multi Service Aero Card (a co-branded Avcard) and KHI’s U.S. government Air Card. AvPOS is available as an iPhone app and is also accessible from a variety of computers, enabling FBOs and ground handlers to transact sales anywhere, including the ramp.
World Fuel Services claims the Multi Service Aero Card is now the “preferred aviation charge card in Europe,” accepted at more than 7,600 locations in 190 countries.
