Aviation Groups Back Senate Aviation Security Bills
One bill would streamline the TSA’s acquisition process and the other would establish an Aviation Security Advisory Committee.

Several aviation industry groups, including NBAA, expressed strong support for two Senate security bills: S.1893, the Transportation Security Acquisition Reform Act; and S.1804, the Aviation Security Stakeholder Participation Act. The former would streamline the TSA’s acquisition process and allow for better congressional oversight of TSA resources. The latter bill would permanently establish an Aviation Security Advisory Committee (ASAC) and create a permanent general aviation security subcommittee within the ASAC. Versions of these bills have already passed the House of Representatives.
