Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. Gulfstream Aerospace recently delivered the 300th outfitted G450, a milestone that comes nearly nine years after the twinjet entered service in May 2005. “The delivery…is a proud moment for Gulfstream because it demonstrates the reliability, performance and comfort the aircraft provides and reflects continuing interest from customers,” said Scott Neal, Gulfstream senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. “The G450 remains the market leader in its class. With the G450 and its sister ship, the G550, Gulfstream has dominated the large-cabin business jet market for the past decade.”


The 4,350-nm G450 holds nine city-pair records, including one set in 2006 when it flew from Denver Centennial Airport to Honolulu International Airport in Oahu in just more than seven hours. More recently, in June 2010, a Gulfstream G450 established a city-pair speed record between Tokyo and Hong Kong, flying the 1,694-nm trip in 3 hours 58 minutes.


According to Gulfstream, the G450 is certified in 53 countries and has a 12-month NBAA dispatch reliability of 99.9 percent. The G450 fleet has cumulatively logged more than 545,000 flight hours and approximately 261,000 landings, with the fleet leader having 6,300 flight hours and more than 3,900 landings.
