New Atlanta-area Airfield Seeking Bizav Tenants

Propeller Investments recently signed a long-term development agreement with Paulding (Ga.) Silver Comet Field, a public-use general aviation airport located 24 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta. Under the agreement, Propeller is focused on developing the airport’s 750 acres, much of which includes airside access.

Silver Comet’s infrastructure includes a new 6,000-foot grooved concrete runway that could be extended to 7,500 feet, as well as a 190-acre airport technology park planned to accommodate aerospace and aviation operations. In addition, there are more than 5,000 acres of available land adjacent to the airport. To date, county, state and federal governments have invested more than $50 million in airport infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, roadway construction, fuel-storage facilities and airport rescue and firefighting capabilities.

“Our joint venture is designed to integrate the business aviation industry as part of the community by bringing sustainable aviation jobs to Pauling County,” said Propeller CEO Brett Smith. He noted that there are four primary development targets at Silver Comet: aircraft assembly and completion, MRO services, aerospace suppliers and commercial air service. The airport is also welcoming business jet operators who want to base their aircraft at the field.
