Innotech Fits Its Diamond Satcom System on a Global

Montreal, Canada-based Innotech Aviation (Booth 1115) announced here at EBACE 2013 the successful installation and certification of a dual Ku/SatTV system on a Bombardier Global jet. Called the I-Ku Diamond system, the installation offers Global operators simultaneous operation of satellite TV, Ku-band satellite high-speed broadband service, voice over IP and other office-in-the-sky applications. Speeds average 1.5 Mbps with options to select even faster speeds. Priced at $1.3 million installed (installation requires 10 to 15 days), the fixed monthly service fee for unlimited worldwide access is approximately $8,000.

“The dual Ku/SatTV system provides complementary satellite access and maximizes the growing demand to replicate seamless connectivity from home or office direct to the aircraft,” said Gesse Sciacca, Innotech’s director of avionics, noting that the system was developed “for the most demanding customers.”

Passengers can use any wireless device to access the I-Ku Diamond applications, and they can do so simultaneously.
