Qatar Airways’ private jet division, Qatar Executive, has been granted Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) regulatory approvals to conduct base maintenance services for Bombardier’s Challenger 604/605 and Global series. To meet anticipated demand, the MRO has expanded its service offering with heavy maintenance checks at its nearly 70,000-sq-ft dedicated hangar at Doha International Airport.
Qatar Executive completed its first 1C and 2C check on its own Global 5000 last month. The 620-man-hour project included implementation of service bulletins, bright-work polishing and Teflon paint protection. The next C checks are already scheduled for two of the airline’s Challenger 605s this month and next.
The enhanced maintenance offering expands the MRO’s status as a Bombardier-authorized service facility in the Middle East.
In addition to its QCAA authorization Qatar Executive holds EASA Part 145 certifications to support European- and Qatari-registered Bombardier aircraft.
The recent maintenance upgrade is part of Qatar Executive’s expansion strategy, which includes investments in fleet renewal and private jet ground facilities as well as its maintenance operations.
