Eclipse Aerospace named Crownair Aviation in San Diego, Calif. an authorized gold service center for both the Eclipse 500 and Eclipse 550. It joins a U.S. network that includes a gold service center and two platinum centers. Appointments of six more silver service centers are expected within the next 12 months.
Internationally there is a platinum service center in Istanbul, a gold in Germany and additional gold and silver service centers to come.
Currently Eclipses are certified in 49 countries, and Eclipse Aerospace CEO Mason Holland told AIN, “We are in the third quarter for the Eclipse 550 so we’re focused on support.”
The three-tiered service-center network consists of the company-owned platinum service center, which can perform any kind of maintenance, inspection, repair or modification. “We also license properly equipped Part 145 repair stations as either gold or silver,” Holland explained. Gold can perform major and minor inspections as well as warranty and repair work; silver can perform general warranty work, general maintenance and some minor inspections.
