Becker Avionics (Both No. N5801) will supply its DVCS6100 digital audio and intercommunication system for the Brazilian Army Aviation AS550 A2 Fennec and AS350 Squirrel helicopter modernization program.

The selection means Becker Avionics of Miramar, Fla., and Becker do Brazil are the new partners of Helibras, Eurocopter’s Brazilian subsidiary and the Brazilian Army.

Helibras is modernizing 36 AS500s and AS350 L1 Squirrel helicopters operated by the Brazilian Army Aviation Command. The modernization and upgrade program includes integration of the Becker Avionics digital ICS--the DVCS6100--as well as installation of glass cockpit systems with three displays. Also included is integration of an automatic flight control system, new communication and navigation equipment, new flight crew seating with energy absorption and height adjustment capability, enhanced ballistic protection for added safety and a new weapons systems.
