Beechcraft Names Farid As New Asia-Pacific Sales Boss

Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) has appointed Ted Farid as sales vice president for the Asia-Pacific region, which spans all of North and South Asia, including India. The change was announced at the Aero India show in Bangalore just a few days after a U.S. Bankruptcy Court approved the manufacturer’s reorganization plan that will see it emerge from Chapter 11 protection under the new name Beechcraft Corp. It is dropping its business jet portfolio to focus on its turboprop, piston, special missions and trainer/attack product lines.

Farid joined HBC in 1996 and has most recently served as senior vice president for international sales and new business development. For now he will continue to be based at HBC’s headquarters in Wichita, but he plans to relocate to somewhere in the Asia-Pacific region, mostly likely either Singapore or Hong Kong.

HBC is exhibiting a Beechcraft King Air 350i at the Aero India show.
