Charles Alcock is managing editor of the AIN Media Group, having rejoined the company in 2019. He has been an aviation journalist since 1986, and previously worked for AIN from 1990 to 2017, most recently as editor-in-chief. His main focus is on covering new aviation technology and business models, as well as international news.
Having been raised in the London area, Alcock studied at the University of Manchester in the UK and earned an honors degree in Politics and Modern History. He speaks English and French, and some German.

The Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) hosted the first Jordanian Regional Forum at the Dead Sea resort of Sweimeh on October 8. The agenda for the event, which was sponsored by the Ayla Aviation Academy, included issues such as local restrictions on airspace and airport access, enhancing safety audits, crisis management techniques and reducing so-called gray market, illegal charter activity. 
“In the Seventies [1970s], Jordan introduced business aviation into the Middle East when the first operator in the region began flying with support of the late King Hussein, who was keen to make Amman a business aviation center for the region,” commented MEBAA founding chairman Ali Al Naqbi. “Today Jordan is continuing that legacy and is equally pioneering thanks to a knowledge-based economy that is fueling a terrific entrepreneurial spirit.” 
The Jordanian Regional Forum was held in conjunction with the Fourth Global Humanitarian Aviation Conference, for which MEBAA was a sponsor. The Dubai-based organization is promoting support by the business aviation industry for the United Nations World Food Program. During the event F&amp;E Aerospace, organizer of the MEBA show, was given the Aviation Safety Promotion Donor Award at the first WFP Humanitarian Aviation Awards. The company has supported the WFP’s work since 2007.
