About 25,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors are expected at the 65th annual NBAA Convention, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday next week at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. As one of the largest trade shows in the U.S., the business aviation convention is projected to have an economic impact of more than $51 million to the Orlando area, according to the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

There will be about 100 business aircraft on static display at the show, with about a dozen turboprops and light jets on display just outside the convention center, and the remainder of the aircraft, including several bizliners, on display at Orlando Executive Airport. Additionally, more than 100 educational sessions are planned during the event.

The opening general session on Tuesday will include presentations by FAA Acting Administrator Michael Huerta and Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.). A second-day general session on Wednesday will feature political commentators Mary Matalin and James Carville.

The AIN team is already arriving in Orlando to provide comprehensive coverage of the show. Our NBAA Convention News will publish three daily print issues at the show starting Tuesday morning. AINtv will begin on-site broadcasting on Sunday, and AINalerts will publish daily afternoon issues from Monday through Thursday.
