Signature Flight Support and NetJets broke ground today on a 10,000-sq-ft dedicated passenger terminal solely for NetJets customers at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida. The $13 million facility, which will open in the second half of next year, is being developed under a partnership between the FBO chain and the fractional provider. Attending the event were Signature and NetJets executives, local elected officials and a half dozen students enrolled in the aviation program at the nearby Boynton Beach Community High School.

Amenities at the private terminal will include passenger and crew lounges, crew rest area, conference and business center capabilities and flight-planning facilities. Outside, it will have six acres of paved ramp space, aircraft movement areas and auto parking.

NetJets North America president and COO Bill Noe told AIN that the dedicated terminal extends the NetJets experience to the ground side. In fact, NetJets already has such facilities at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., Columbus, Ohio and Van Nuys, Calif., among others. It also plans to have a dedicated facility at Atlanta DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
