‘Line Up and Wait’ Coming To Orlando Executive Airport

A new procedure at Orlando (Fla.) Executive Airport–the host airfield for the static display at the NBAA Convention in October–will allow more efficient operations year-round by enabling controllers to position aircraft on the runway before takeoff clearance. Effective July 1, controllers at the central Florida airport will be able to issue “line up and wait” instructions to departing traffic. According to NBAA director of air traffic services and infrastructure Bob Lamond, “The change not only will assist with operations during our upcoming convention, but also will benefit the airport and pilots throughout the year.”
