Gulfstream Aerospace said on Friday that its super-midsize G280 received a provisional type certificate from the FAA, some two months after receiving identical approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel. According to Gulfstream, the principal remaining item required before the FAA and CAAI issue full type certificates is an update to the software for the twinjet’s Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics. Gulfstream expects to receive full type certification from both agencies this year.
