Embraer performed the Legacy 500 first engine run on January 17 at its headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil, the company said yesterday. Between the midsize jet’s December 23 rollout and the first run of its Honeywell HTF7500E engines, Embraer conducted several ground tests, including APU and refueling tests. The engine run allowed for the evaluation of the bleed air, electrical, environmental and hydraulic systems, as well as Fadec and integration of the engines with avionics. The Legacy 500 is expected to fly in the third quarter.
