Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre, located at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, is reporting a 145-percent increase

Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre, located at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, is reporting a 145-percent increase in business aviation traffic over the past 12 months. According to facility general manager Carey Matthews, “This increase in traffic is all the more notable given the previous year’s traffic was heavily influenced by the Shanghai World Exposition in October 2010.“ The expo saw “significant numbers” of business aviation flights to Shanghai for the event, he said. “The substantial increase in traffic into Hongqiao, which opened in April 2010, reflects the growing recognition of…our FBO. Additionally, our recently opened maintenance facility is also driving further traffic to our Hongqiao operation.” At press time, Hawker Pacific had yet to respond to AIN’s inquiries seeking more specific traffic data. Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre is a joint venture between the Shanghai Airport Authority and Hawker Pacific. The company also provides flight services at Pudong Airport, Shanghai’s secondary airport.
