Hawker Beechcraft has broken ground on a 48,000-sq-ft company-owned factory service center at General Mariano Escobedo International Airport in Monterrey, Mexico. The facility is scheduled to open next spring. Construction of this new facility follows the previously announced addition of a Hawker Beechcraft Services facility in Wilmington, Del. Together the two facilities will increase HBC’s company-owned service center support hangar space to more than 600,000 sq ft. The FAA and DGAC-certified facility will specialize in Hawker and Beechcraft aircraft, including the composite-fuselage Premier and Hawker 4000. In addition to offering maintenance, repair and modification of airframes, powerplants and avionics systems, the new facility will also provide interior modification services and exterior paint. Also included are guest offices with WiFi Internet access, a lounge, an extensive on-site parts inventory and a design center for reviewing and selecting interior fabrics and amenities, as well as exterior paint schemes and color options.
