Jetcraft, which provides sales, acquisitions, trading and brokerage services of business aircraft, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The company got its start in 1961 when Charles “Bucky” Oliver acquired an FBO, Raleigh-Durham Aviation. Recognizing Bill Lear’s vision of the purpose-built business jet, Oliver signed up to be a Learjet distributor, with Raleigh-Durham Aviation later becoming a leading Learjet dealer, operator and host of Learjet demonstrations.
