Preferred Jet Center at Atlanta’s Cobb County-McCollum Airport recently finished a four-month-long ramp improvement project that will allow the FBO to accommodate any aircraft that can operate on the airport’s 6,305-foot runway. The $1.2 million upgrade, along with the airport’s realignment of Taxiway Bravo, was done with large aircraft in mind. Along with the addition of three acres of transient and based aircraft parking, the new 14-acre ramp includes two 120-foot-wide entrances with expansive turning radii, 150-foot-wide lanes for taxiing, two reinforced concrete parking pads to accommodate aircraft weighing more than 120,000 pounds, new tie-down parking with in-ground anchors, and new wash bays with electrical connections.
