Singapore Technologies, better known for its MRO services as ST Aerospace, has delivered a finished DC-8 to an unidentified Middle East customer.
The design and engineering was done in-house, while the company’s U.S. facility in San Antonio built the interior components and did the installation. The U.S. division also handled engineering authorization and certification.
The high-end cabin features a master suite with lavatory and shower, three passenger lounges, a center-cabin bar, a crew rest area and acoustic curtains to provide additional privacy.
Assuming the continued growth of the global economy, ST Aerospace expects to see its executive aircraft outfitting business grow as well. The company forecasts growth in the cabin interior retrofit market from an estimated $5 billion in 2011 to $7.2 billion by 2020.
