Australia-based GippsAero launched a stretched turboprop derivative of its piston-powered GA8 Airvan, in addition to expanding its footprint in North America. Certified production of the GA10 turboprop single is expected to begin in 2013. GippsAero has selected the 715-shp Rolls-Royce M250-B17F/2 to power the 10-passenger aircraft, which it hopes to bring to market for a unit price of $1.3 million. The GA10 will be certified with fixed gear and floats. Preliminary data indicates the aircraft will have an endurance of approximately five hours at 150 knots. It will be built in Victoria, Australia. GippsAero is also developing a twin turboprop–the GA-18, based on the N24 Nomad–for certification in 2014.
