NBAA and the Shanghai Airport Authority (SAA) finalized a five-year agreement that guarantees the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (Abace) will be held at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. The deal was initially struck between the parties at Ebace in May. The last Abace was held three years ago in Hong Kong, and since then numerous Asian cities and countries have vied to host the next conference, according to NBAA. China is projected to need approximately 10,000 to 12,000 GA aircraft in the coming years, according to state civil aviation authorities. “Combining these developments with the country’s status as the world’s second largest economy and the outcome is a business aviation market primed to take off,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. Abace 2012 will be held from March 27 to 29, and Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre will host the static display.
