Marenco Swiss Helicopter holds just a dozen letters of intent for its SKYe SH09 light single helicopter, but it has already outlined plans to produce 80 to 100 aircraft per year. The company, based in Niederurnen near Zurich, sees 10 SH09s being manufactured and delivered in 2015, with that number increasing to 30 the following year. In 2017, the output is planned to be in the 30 to 50 range and then between 80 and 100 helicopters per year from 2018. Marenco has pegged first flight next year, with certification in 2014, a schedule Mathias Senes, senior vice president for sales and strategy, concedes is “tight.” Although Honeywell and Sagem have been announced as the providers of the turboshaft and avionics, respectively, the door is still open to other suppliers, Senes said. The SH09 was unveiled at Heli-Expo in March. Belonging to the 5,500-pound class, the $3 million helicopter will seat five to eight passengers.
