West Star Aviation has partnered with Tac Air to provide services on Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS). Tac Air will offer traditional FBO fare such as fuel and ramp service while West Star will offer FAR Part 145 maintenance. “We have talked with Tac Air in the past about potential opportunities to team, but the SUS deal was the right time and the right place,” Samuel Haycraft, chief executive v-p of operations for West Star Aviation, told AIN. The 19,000-sq-ft facility, previously operated by Signature Flight Support (Executive Beechcraft), has three bays each capable of holding up to four aircraft. West Star has retained 13 employees, all the existing employees who wanted to remain. “Our goal is to maintain the continuity of the previous owners, Executive Beechcraft, while developing business the West Star way. We are confident this venture will be positive for all parties involved,” Haycraft said. He added, “We are currently keeping the existing airframe ratings: King Air, Learjet, Cirrus and all Beech products including the Bonanza, BeechJet and Premier. Expanding the product line is always an option.”
