Textron sister companies Bell Helicopter and Cessna Aircraft have broken ground on a new facility dedicated to customers in the Asia-Pacific region.
“We will be moving out of the 34,000-sq-ft Bell Helicopter Singapore Supply Center located in Loyang Industrial Park into the new facility in the second quarter of 2012,” Donald Brosious, v-p finance for customer support at Bell Helicopter, told AIN. The new 160,000-sq-ft facility, which will have hangar, office, storage and maintenance space, is to be located in Seletar Aerospace Park. When fully operational it will employ approximately 90 technicians and administrative staff.
The Seletar facility will serve as the companies’ regional sales and service center for Asia-Pacific and will include service centers for both Bell Helicopter and Cessna. It will offer aircraft sales, technical support, spare parts distribution, maintenance, overhaul, refurbishment, completions and customizing, and Bell Helicopter training for both maintenance and flight.
