Relativity Capital is acquiring Evergreen Maintenance Center (EMC) from Evergreen International Aviation. Relativity Capital provides private equity capital to companies throughout all stages of the business cycle. Based in Arizona, EMC is the largest aircraft storage and maintenance facility in the world, with 20 million square feet of ramp and storage area capable of accommodating more than 400 aircraft. The FAA Part 145 repair station holds an FAA Class IV airframe rating and has retained its ISO 9001 certification from Air Transport Canada, Aruba, Bermuda and the EASA. “EMC’s diverse business model enabled the company to be a good acquisition candidate,” Fernando Pereyra, EMC’s vice president for sales and marketing, told AIN. “Further, we have been hiring and within the last two months EMC has added more than 100 employees to our technical group to support efforts above forecast.” Brian Lee, principal of Relativity, said, “It is a truly unique infrastructure asset that allows airline operators to manage their fleet on a just-in-time basis, which is a critical, value-added service offering given the current volatility in both load factors and fuel prices.”
