FlightSafety International celebrated its 60th anniversaryin late March. “All of us are most grateful to Al Ueltschi for founding this outstanding company, [and for] his vision and leadership,” said company president and CEO Bruce Whitman. Business aviation was just beginning when FlightSafety was incorporated in the state of New York on March 29, 1951. At that time, most business aviation pilots flew military aircraft converted to civilian use and, unlike commercial pilots, weren’t required to undergo formal training.
