Bombardier Aerospace has upgraded maintenance capabilities at Aerovitro of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and Aviacion Atlantico Sur (AASSA) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Aerovitro has been appointed an authorized service facility (ASF) for the Challenger 300 and 604/605 while Aviacion Atlantico Sur is now an AOG line maintenance facility (LMF) for the Challenger 604/605. Chris Milligan, ASF director at Bombardier Business Aircraft, told AIN there are approximately 70 Challengers in Latin America, including Mexico and South and Central America. “Aerovitro has been an LMF for the Challenger and Global since 2010 and Aviacion Atlantico Sur has been a Learjet ASF since 2008,” he said. Aerovitro has more than 40 years of experience in business jet maintenance and has served as an AOG LMF for the Challenger 604/605 and Global Express since August 2010. It operates out of an 18,100-sq-ft facility on Del Norte International Airport and employs 16 maintenance personnel. Aviacion Atlantico Sur has been working on business aircraft for 12 years and is located in a 12,000-sq-ft hangar on Buenos Aires San Fernando International Airport. The MRO employs a full-time staff of 22 airframe, avionics and engine technicians.
