Dallas/Fort Worth is the site for Conklin & de Decker’s 2011 Helicopter Maintenance Management seminar. The March 28 and 29 event, titled Essential Tools for Your New Role, is being offered independent of HAI for the first time. “We’ve been doing this for about 15 years without a sponsor as a joint venture with HAI. We’re now doing it independently, and Turbomeca has agreed to sponsor the event. It’s a good fit for us and we’ll be seeking sponsorships in future years,” Brandon Battles, v-p and co-owner of Conklin & de Decker, told AIN. “We recognize the value of maintenance technicians receiving training that supplements their technical backgrounds as they make the transition into managerial positions. Conklin & de Decker delivers a message that is often overlooked within our industry–the business side of the maintenance organization,” he said. This year’s seminar will focus on the principles of management, financial management, inventory issues, information systems and regulatory issues. Registration costs $800 and can be done on the company’s website.
