PRELIMINARY REPORT: PREMIER I CRASHES IN SWITZERLAND

Hawker Beechcraft Premier I, Bever, Switzerland, Dec. 19, 2010–The German-registered Premier I was destroyed when it crashed at Samedan Airport, killing the captain and first officer. The aircraft hit the ground north of the threshold of Runway 21 after the pilots elected to go around after a first missed approach during snowfall. Samedan is a VFR-only airport, and horizontal visibility was satisfactory despite the snow, according to the tower. The Swiss government is investigating the accident.
